SmartForest 2026 – Call for Abstracts

We cordially invite forest practitioners, researchers, startups, and political decision-makers to submit abstracts and become part of SmartForest 2026. The conference creates a space for science and practice to come together and find solutions for digital, innovative, sustainable, and climate-adapted forest management.

Contributions are welcome in both English and German.
The presentation of the accepted contributions may be prepared and delivered in either German or English.

Individual contributions may only be submitted for one specific topic area and may only be submitted via the online review system.

The schedule for the review process of the submissions is as follows:

Format

The following criteria must be adhered to when submitting contributions:

• Maximum 2-3 pages, including illustrations and graphics
• The following points should be addressed in terms of content:
  • What challenge does the contribution address?
  • Which stakeholders are affected?
  • What practical relevance does the contribution have?
  • How workable is this approach?
• Format: PDF file

Assessment

The submissions will be assessed according to the following criteria:

• Overall assessment
• Originality
• Technical quality/ innovation potential
• Suitability to stimulate discussion
• Contribution to the relevant thematic block
